Doing so when the church is not in session all the better for they become familiar with the surroundings and comfort with knowing their way around. This may mean meeting over a period of weeks until they're "ready". I was just with this family member over the past couple days...in conversation she mentioned more than once it's important to her to "choose" when she is ready to take on a new endeavor. When she feels confident. She has delayed learning to drive because she doesn't want to until she 'needs to' drive to college or classes etc. as an example. So choosing is important to them.
I just feel very good about the church giving these individuals "space" to adjust before they actually launch out into an actual service....doing so together would make a difference.
That is gold! Just added all that to my notes for the disabled church.
