Well!! There it is! The belief that relying on God's word alone is a "fools errand".

Of course the sticky point is when a protestant says "alone". Then what constitutes the Word becomes a matter of preference. What the protestant deems they can live without is left out. Rather than conforming themselves to what is true.

Somewhat akin to Pelosi's Deem and Pass self-executing rule.

When I look back on my experience I find this cartoon has a ring of truth. There were many verses of the Bible that I either didn’t realize existed (though that may seem strange) or that we just ignored. Other verses I just read with my “Baptist glasses” on and twisted them to fit my old tradition. Looking back it makes me happier than ever to be a Catholic. -Steve Ray
