Well....I have read the Catechism and it’s kind of weasely on that point. It seems to state that, if Muslims just but think that they worship the same God as Christians & Jews, then so be it. That doesn’t make it necessarily so.

The Koran’s picture of the distant, indifferent deity that Muslims call Allah is at complete odds with the loving God of the Bible Who hears those who call upon Him.

Weasely? Not hardly

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

There's no weaseling happening there.
