I’ve never heard a claim that there were healings at the People’s Temple.

In any case, that’s not an answer to my question.

Fair enough.

But there has been a medical board at Lourdes since the 19th century. Full documentation exists, including photographs, X-rays, etc., of certain events, such as four inches of leg bone growing overnight, large tumors disappearing overnight—stuff like that.

You can, of course, deny that these things have ever happened, or that all the doctors have been bribed, but that would only expose you as intellectually dishonest, like Zola.

He went to Lourdes declaring that he would believe if he witnessed a miracle. He did. A woman, who Zola saw before her healing, was healed of a massive tumor in her face. After it disappeared, he saw her again. He turned away, saying, “To me, she is still ugly.” He remained an unbeliever.

So, ruling out the option of intellectual dishonesty of that type, what explanation do you have?

I do not deny that God does marvelous things every day...and sometimes truly miraculous things. I am one of them.

But he generally works through people (Dr.s etc.) to accomplish his will because he loves doing so. That's why we “follow” His will for us.

Otherwise what are you going to tell the faithful people who aren't healed?

When Jesus healed he always gave instructions...one of which was to ‘not tell’. For he knew they would seek Him for what he would do rather than who HE was and what they really needed him for.

Further in the last days Jesus made it clear their would be signs and miraculous happenings....which He would not be the one doing those things as follows........ "There shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show 'great signs and wonders'; insomuch that, if it were possible. they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:24)

And again...."He doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do" (Revelation 13:13, 14). As for Lourdes documenting anything...well I wouldn't put a lot of trust that they are legit....with all else considered.

Just so you are aware.

...This is a room containing so called holy 'Dirt'.... people stand or sit in the 'Dirt',... eat.... or bath themselves with 'the Dirt'.....who then fill Ziploc bags with some of this 'dirt' to take with them.

This is the room dedicated to those who thought they were healed

And it happens without going to or being at Lourdes either.

Happened in an Evangelical setting. Nyack College IIRC but it may have been in a nearby church. I also heard about it from someone who was there and witnessed it first hand.

Why did Jesus going around encouraging the evil and adulterous by performing miracles? Isn’t it sinful to encourage people in their sins?

You would have to ask Jesus why He did what He did. I don’t make those speculations. And I’m certainly not following you down some rabbit trail.

So; NO tests were done on any part of the Shroud that was not cut out; right?

The official report of the dating process, written by the people who performed the sampling, states that the sample “came from a single site on the main body of the shroud away from any patches or charred areas.”

“So; NO tests were done on any part of the Shroud that was not cut out; right?”

Do you ever have a discussion without having to try these silly little gotcha games? Grow up, already.

It has been posted here that “The shroud has been subjected to numerous scientific tests over the years, culminating in 1988 with a radiocarbon measurement and dating procedure.”

This is the only test that matters for the purposes of this discussion, as should not have needed stating.

“Nature, Vol. 337, No. 6208, pp. 611-615”

Nature is scorned on FR as a politicized tool of greentard wankers.

The official report lies, as has been substantiated.

At least have the intellectual honesty to distrust Nature when they are pimping for a pet cause, as well as when they are beating the drum for anthropogenic global warming.

I’m going to go do family stuff now, involving football practice, a farmer’s market, and a pool league, in that order.

In other words, you throw in the towel because what you were implying is indefensible. Thank you.

I said "You would have to ask Jesus why He did what He did. I don’t make those speculations." Do you not ask for guidance from Jesus and the Holy Spirit?

You’ve lived a sheltered life. Jim Jones specialized in fake healings.

I always distrust anyone who “is are” grinding an axe, until I look into things for myself.

How about I accuse the pastor of your church of “pimping” for something?

I wish I could see who clicks the “abuse” button and what for.

It would seem to me to be someone who cannot win whatever argument they are engaged in and needs some help.

Or someone with thin skin that is getting their widdle feewings hurt...
