So true.
Luther and others just HATED what the church had turned into...
“Not when a miracle is being claimed, you cant.”
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch.
I can’t believe I have to type this in.
Listen up. I don’t want to repeat it.
When you are trying to “debunk” a miracle, showing that the phenomenon can occur without a miracle is a pretty good start.
That is what you could show without a sample from the reliquary.
If you did in fact demonstrate that no miracle is required to liquefy dried blood, then the Church might agree to a test of the blood in the reliquary.
“EVERY sample?”
You don’t have to shout.
Only one sample was cut from the Shroud.

Well, if you quote two different answers to two different questions, and then string them together out of context, I suppose you might try to make it look that way.
“When you are trying to debunk a miracle, showing that the phenomenon can occur without a miracle is a pretty good start.
That is what you could show without a sample from the reliquary.”
Without knowing what is in the reliquary, you can’t replicate what is being done in order to show it’s the same phenomenon. I can hold a piece of ice in my hand and change it to a liquid, but that doesn’t demonstrate anything, unless you knew that there was ice in the reliquary.
“If you did in fact demonstrate that no miracle is required to liquefy dried blood, then the Church might agree to a test of the blood in the reliquary.”
I don’t care whether the church agrees to a test or not. I only mentioned a test of what the relic contains because some want everyone to assume it contains dried blood. Well, without such a test, I can’t assume that.
Your position was both sides of the same coin period. DSC was nice enough to explain why you were wrong, there is no need for me to reiterate your mistake.
“Your position was both sides of the same coin period.”
Nonsense, you cherry picked replies addressed to two completely different questions, then tried to create some equivalency where there was none.
I will pray that the scales are lifted from your eyes. Feel free to have the last word.
It isnt a retreat from relics, weve never had a need nor desire for their assistance, as catholics have said they do, for we heed what God has said...that you dont use those things, or bow to them, or adorn, or worship them.
If your good pal Bubba fell out of the deer stand and died would a sane society tolerate you shlepping his severed leg home and setting it up in your shed on a shrine.
What if you bowed to the severed leg, painted the toe nails gold and kissed it?
Just food for thought.
The Spanish Inquisition was not a sin. Some sins were committed in it, but it was not a sin in itself.
Well that’s about it....
I was watching videos about some serial killers who did like wise.....though it was rightly called disgusting and perverted.
Just like how Jesus treated sinners, right?
Oh, wait a minute.......
Going to work...will be back tonight...have some interesting photos to post...
How do you explain the thousands of wheelchairs and crutches people have left behind at Lourdes?
How do you explain the thousands of wheelchairs and crutches people have left behind at Lourdes?
How do you explain the miracles and healings at Jim Jone’s Peoples Temple?
The same question could be asked about Benny Hinn conferences.
Wheelchairs and Crutches left at a church mean nothing at all....who's to say they didn't put them there, or that those who left them didn't have to get others.
I say this because the “emotional” drama that is central at these events or services often can induce an individual to think he's healed...there's all sorts of adrenalin moving and the atmosphere generally hightened all around. They do this because it works to get the excitement going that God is going to visit them...
The same question could be asked about anything.
But pointing that out is not an answer to the question.
