The last parade I attended or watched on tv was during the Carter years.
It sounds like they’re going to have to rename the parade, “St. Freako’s Sexual Deviancy Day Parade”.
This “parade” is going to be a complete circus, freak show!
(Ergo, May be worth watching)
Looking for a backdoor way in, eh?
May as well call it “Folsom Street East”.
It's NOT in honor of SAINT PATRICK anymore.
gay ‘n green = gangrene
All this hoo-ha for .5-1.5% of the population.
It makes NO sense.
Who didn’t see that coming?
Really, what you said is exactly what they want to do: take it over and turn it into another gay thing. And Dolan will no doubt be beaming upon them all the while.
They already have a gay parade from New York.
It is called the NBC prime time line up.
The problem with LGBT parades is that nobody wears anything.

Is it wrong to wish that every spectator just turn their backs on them whenever they prance by???
DeBlasio wants to turn NYC into Stalingrad. Get rid of all the tourist magnets, however, and you lose quite a bit of money. One million tourists come just for the parade.
As I mentioned on another thread, I’ve heard the goal is to get rid of the parade. LGBT people think they are fighting their little courageous fight, but they are just tools in a larger atheistic plan. Nobody really cares about them.
By giving in to one group the parade is being converted inexorably into a Queer Parade. By next year that is all it will be.
This has been the country’s oldest and grandest parade, even ante-dating the Declaration of Independence. It really is not a parade, though, in the strict military (formal British) sense of the word. It is more correctly described as a religious procession.
Now the times, and the semantics, have changed. The current tax-exempt status of the event seems to open the “back door” for the homosexual activists to crash the party. If it is a public religious procession, then the homosexual inclusion trumpets blasphemy.
If the parade becomes a private religious procession, however, it will surrender its tax-exempt status and likely lose much public and municipal support. As a private event, though, I think that any blasphemous elements could be excluded.
This is why they were put in the closet. When out, the drama QUEENS trample over others and make it ALL ABOUT THEM.
I wonder if we could gather up enough snakes to chase them all into the Hudson? I rather like the symbolism.
Another tradition destroyed to satisfy the perpetually offended.
