the Popes ahve tried to reign in straying colleges...

http://www.massnews.com/past_issues/other/5_May/excord.htm

and

http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651028_gravissimum-educationis_en.html

and many more items could be added to this list

SO far, however, it is not at all clear that these many efforts are succeeding much in restoring some visible measure of faith to the colleges

It is tragic to watch a Catholic school lose its faith.

It sure is.
There will an ENORMOUS price for them to pay.

Notre Dame had joined other Catholic institutions in filing suit against the contraceptive mandate in the federal health-care program.

Imagine that.......

I am surprised they joined those lawsuits in the first place

**But after preliminary court rulings against the university— which Notre Dame is now appealing— the university administration has chosen to cover contraceptive costs.**

Discouraging that they would cave when it is headed to appeals court.

I wonder how they are going to “Christianize” that? They have a history of taking pagan customs, practices, vestments, and rituals and claiming to “Christianize” them.
