Lidndh is alive and serving time in Terre Haute..or am I thinking of someone else?
To everything - yurn, yurn, yurn
There is a season - yurn, yurn, yurn
And a time to every purpose under Islam
Christian men do not turn to Islam, being raised in Christian home DOES NOT make you a Christian anymore than living in the garage makes you a car
I have a little theory about the ill-educated young men growing up all around us and includes the feral thugs roaming the streets.
Young males seem to have a desire to fight - and for those not otherwise directed to sports or good causes such as the U.S. military, Islam gives them their cause and encourages them to unleash their inner demons.
In other words, the vacuum left by political correctness and wishy washiness all around can, for the easily manipulated, be filled by radical Islam.
“The argument can be made that he is an icon for many American Catholic youth of our current day.”
(face palm)
and then that argument can be ridiculed by “many” more Catholic youth
This particular boys problem is that when still a young teen his father decided he was gay and ran off.
And I suspect this was just the culmination of a course of events.
I’m not surprised the poor lad finished his adolescence in a confused and vulnerable state. He was probably likely to have fallen in with anyone or anything at that point. Drugs, cults, and similar were options in his future. He does seem like he fell into the first cult that came along.
I blame feminism.
I LOVE going to the ballgame, standing, taking off my home team visor and SINGING out our national anthem. I love it!

My guess it that weren't genuinely Christian to begin with.
John Walker Lindh turned to Islam shortly after his father divorced his mother and moved in with a male lover. The son fled to the most anti-homosexual faith he could find, because Christianity didn’t condemn his father’s actions sufficiently.
As a Catholic father, it would have helped if so many of the bishops hadn’t been homos.
Lindh isn’t dead.
