The parade in NYC should end. They’ve opened it up to other groups so that those groups can promote their agenda. It’s now a general parade.

Besides, St Patricks Day has become a carnival complete with mardi gras beads and paddywackery.

A request was left with the communications department at the Archdiocese of Washington seeking comment, specifically, as to whether or not the Archdiocese shares Pope’s views. A spokesperson said they were unable to immediately comment.

Dolan is a buffoon. But he is a big nasty vindictive buffoon. Don't be surprised if this is the end of Msgr. Pope's blogging on the archdiocesan website.

No, I do not think so. Not really.

Gone are the days of Cardinal O'Connor. Even Guliani knew he could not come up and receive communion at St Patrick's.

O'Connor had to be dead for the Clintons to get into the church.

I am extremely disappointed in Cardinal Dolan. I stay a Roman Catholic in spite of most of our crummy Bishops. Sometimes I wonder who they are working for.

Vindictive indeed! As Our Lady of Akita stated in 1973, "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres..." http://www.ewtn.com/library/mary/akita.htm

More and more people in the church - and I do not limit this to Catholicism - are going to have to choose between this sex-laden, abortion-touting secularist culture, and traditional Christian. In some cases, they are being FORCED to choose, as when government demands Christian cooperation in sinful activities. It only remains to be seen how far this will go, whether actual persecution will be confined to the margins, or will become full-blown, aggressive, and widespread.

It could very well lead to a violent revolt by those traditional Christians who have in the last number of years have been buy both guns and ammo.

Whoops: “ . . . and traditional Christian.” s/b “ . . . and traditional Christian values.”

Was there not a saying that the road to hades is paved with bishops skulls?

Have attended the parade many a year ... I don't recall any beads - and WTF is "paddywackery?"

I would not be surprised. Whether that would be good or bad, I don't know.
