Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

GLORY BE to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I prefer the direct line to Jesus. No need for ‘saints’ to get between us.

Should any one of them desire to become a Catholic, I would sooner pierce his heart with a dagger than allow him to embrace the religion of the Popes!

I never realized that we Baptists were that evil.

Well, I am certainly going to change my ways now.

Thank you NKP_Vet. Very inspirational. True story.

Great story! Blessed Mother pray for us as the darkness descends.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of thy Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

Ask her to enlighten the minds of Protestants who are separated from the true Church of Christ founded on the Rock (Peter) and ‘against whom the gates of hell shall never prevail.’”

So everyone who isn't a Roman Catholic is going to hell.

You know what Freerepublic needs? More Catholic v Protestant cat fights. Let’s get it up to 2 or 3 threads a day. That will really help advance the conservative cause.

The Popes (men) teach us to pray to Mary (woman).

Jesus (Son of God) taught us to pray to God directly.

Given the choice of listening and obeying either men or the Son of God, I choose the later.

I am Catholic and will remain so all my days and beyond. But I do not believe this story for an instant. I’ll assume it is not meant to be factual but even as a teaching story it is not believable.

The majority of Protestants do believe Mary was special in that they regard her as the mother of Christ who gave birth as a virgin. They don’t title her Mother of God or believe she remained a virgin but most don’t dismiss her as just another woman.

There are sects that believe she was no more than a vessel a sort of rent a womb but that belief is in the minority. Most realize her fiat had an important role in salvation history. They know that she was with Jesus at the foot of the cross and understand that her grief was very real.

Oh and I doubt most Protestants have any problem with the salutation of Elizabeth to Mary, after all it is in the Bible. What they object to is using it as a prayer and the addition in that prayer to Mary being called Mother of God. This is not proof that they are against Mary but that to them worship which includes prayers is reserved for God alone. They do not have distinctions such as Adoration, Hyperdulia and Dulia.

What a phoney story...A six year old boy perusing the scriptures...

“Mary is not like any other children of Adam, stained with sin. No! The Angel called her FULL OF GRACE AND BLESSED AMONGST WOMEN. Mary is the Mother of Jesus Christ and consequently Mother of God. There is no higher dignity to which a creature can be raised. The Gospel says that the generations will proclaim her blessed and you are trying to despise her and look down on her. Your spirit is not the spirit of the Gospel or of the Bible which you proclaim to be the foundation of the Christian religion.”

Now, a 14 year old boy...Catholic deception know no bounds...

**The story was related during a sermon given by the Rev. Fr. Tuckwell. “Brethren,” he went on and said, “the boy who became a Catholic and converted his sister to Catholicism dedicated his whole life to the service of God. He is the priest who is speaking to you now! What I am I owe to Our Lady. You, too, my dear brethren, be entirely dedicated also to Our Lady and never let a day pass without saying the beautiful prayer, ‘Hail Mary’, and your Rosary. Ask her to enlighten the minds of Protestants who are separated from the true Church of Christ founded on the Rock (Peter) and ‘against whom the gates of hell shall never prevail.’”**

Lump in my throat. What a beautiful story. May all have this experience.

God the Father honored Mary to be be the Ark of the Convent to carry His Son. If the Catholic Church accepts that the Father made Mary perfect, I’m not going to disagree with the Father either.

Wow what a wonderful testimony. Too bad it’s on the way to being ignored for the two-trillionth round of : Mary, Mother of God or Goddess of the Papists?

Good luck there all who engage in such debauchery. The thread is worth a bump or two though just for the OP. So duke it out y’all. It’s for a good cause.

I know very few will take the time to read the following, ultimately they care only for their religion, in where they think themselves so very special:

Whether they be Catholic, Protestant or any other so-called christian religion, they all fail. Just a very few of thousands of scriptures they all fail to understand and believe, Oh and know this Christ is not a Religion he is:

the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ

Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Building a denomination on any man, is very dangerous. You build a Church on Jesus Christ, the Living Word and Eternal Rock, and it will stand forever.
(Matthew 7:24-29, John 1, 1 Corinthians 3:1-11, 1 Peter 2:1-6, Hebrews 4:12)

A child of God, a Believer who is led by the Spirit, has 7/24/365 access to their Heavenly Father. The faith of one righteous Believer can move mountains. Our Heavenly Father is more than capable of, and very eager to, fellowship with every one of His kids. He is not an absentee father, or a deadbeat dad. Nor does he need someone to beg or nag Him for an answer. He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. God has no grandkids or redheaded stepchildren. His love for His family is infinitely beyond what anyone could ever imagine. To Believers, He is not just God, but Abba, our Father. Believers are part of the family - not slaves, not servants, not even friends, but children of God!!
(Mark 11:22-24, Romans 8:11-17, Ephesians 3, Hebrews 4:14-16, 11:6, James 5:15-18, 1 John 1, 1 John 3:1-2)

Jesus said if a man loves me he will keep my word, My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. And he promised the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to be in Believers. (John 14:19-27) What more could Mary, or anyone dead in Christ offer a Believer? They have no body on Earth and therefore no authority here. Do you think so little of your own faith, and God’s Love and faithfulness to His Word, that you must turn to pagan practices of communicating with departed spirits?

A Believer is part of the Body of Christ, with Jesus as the Head, a joint heir with Jesus, a citizen of Heaven, raised up with Christ and seated with him in the Heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. God promises to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. Believers are redeemed from the curse and enjoy the Blessing of Abraham. How much more Blessed can you possibly be?
(2 Corinthians 9:8, Galatians 3, Colossians 1:18, Philippians 3:20)

Study the New Testament letters written to the Church, especially the Pauline Epistles, and see who, what, and where you are in Christ. Its not just Good News, its AWESOME NEWS. The Truth will free you from religious bondage so you may fully enjoy God’s Grace and be confident in His Love.

Luke 11:27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”

28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

The very beginning of Mary worship was swatted down by the Lord but the RCC quickly picked it back up.
