Thank you for your insights about Jesus and John the Baptist. They were, of course, cousins, the same age, and according to Christian Legend, grew up together. John knew his cousin was the Messiah from the Womb, as evidenced in the Gospel.
Jesus is our Perfect High Priest, having suffered everything we have experienced, yet without sin.
He even knows what it is like to have His best friend beheaded, and the remains publicly abused.
Prayers up for Our American Heroes and For Our Nation.
