EPISTLE I Cor. 12:2-11 Brethren: You know that when you were heathens, you went to dumb idols, according as you were led. Wherefore, I give you to understand that no man, speaking by the Spirit of God, saith Anathema to Jesus. And no man can say "The Lord Jesus," but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit. And there are diversities of ministries. but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all. And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit. To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit: To another, faith in the same spirit: to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit: To another the working of miracles: to another, prophecy: to another, the discerning of spirits: to another, diverse kinds of tongues: to another, interpretation of speeches. But all these things, one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.

GRADUAL Ps. 16:8, 2 Keep me as the apple of Your eye, O Lord; protect me under the shadow of Your wings. V. Let my judgment come from You; let Your eyes behold what is right.

Alleluia, alleluia! V. Ps. 64:2. It is fitting to praise You in Sion, O God, and to fulfill our vow to You in Jerusalem. Alleluia!

GOSPEL Luke 18:9-14 At that time, Jesus spoke this parable also to some who trusted in themselves as just and despised others. "Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee standing, prayed thus with himself: 'O God, I give thee thanks that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, as also is this publican. I fast twice in a week: I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: 'O God, be merciful to me a sinner.' I say to you, this man went down into his house justified rather than the other: because every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled: and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

For us it was the 20th week in Ordinary Time:
Reading one: Isaiah 56: 1, 6-7
Reading two: Romans 11:13-15, 29-32
Gospel: Matthew 15: 21-28

It's always a BEAUTIFUL Mass--celebration.

See CATHOLIC ONLINE.

Mass is a Holy Sacrifice, not a “celebration”.

Leave the celebrations for the clowns.

One of the reasons why the Greeks left the ROMAN Catholic Church and set up their own and recognized Greek Orthodoxy was LANGUAGE.

Greek is very old and the Greeks didn't want the Mass to be ordered into Latin. Understandable.

NOW, all Masses are/can be in the vernacular.

I went to a Mass in Belgrade, Serbia. I understood only TWO words in the entire Mass:
Jesus Christos.

Исус Христос/Isus Hristos

Real priests offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

The "others" preside over a "celebration", just like the protestants do.

Exactly why are there posts against the Latin mass here? Do we need a Latin Mass Caucus label?

Really? You sound more sympathetic towards the schismatics than towards traditional Catholics.

Yeah, something doesn’t add up here about cloud’s posts. I got the distinct impression that his/her posts were attacking my thread.

I am "her" and I usually agree with your posts.
WHICH one did you think I was attacking?

I go to an English-Mass but I ALWAYS say the "Pater Noster" in the Latin. I made sure that my missal has the Latin on the left page and English on the right page.

I even memorized the Pater Noster at one time, but have fallen away from it the last seven years. I HAVE started to try to put it to memory again, but OLD minds don't seem to memorize as well as younger minds. Ah me.

Perhaps it was post #6 that seemed to focus on the vernacular.

If I completely mistook your posts, however, my sincere apologies.
