Observe as atheist once again opens mouth and inserts foot.

Actually, I don’t think the Bible says anything about women sleeping together.

Romans 1:26 "For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature." (NKJV)

"Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other." (NLT)

I, too, hope that these people are expressing this issue as a weakness to overcome, not as a veiled endorsement. But there are signs that are not reassuring.

These people were sought out for this piece because they made themselves publicly visible on this issue, either through writings, blogging, websites or activism. With the exception of Rosaria Butterfield, whom I trust as the real deal because I've heard her in other forums and know she condemns homosexuality, most of these are highlighting both their "orientation" - a tell-all term of claimed unchangeableness - and celibacy, which does NOT necessarily disclaim the act.

It's like claiming credit because you want to steal, but you don't. The true follower of Christ mourns over this propensity to sin, he doesn't publicly "accept" it, except to confess it.

ANYTHING other that heterosexuality is a CHOICE. There ARE NO "gay" or "bisexual" genes. Even non-sexuality is a choice.

WHY would anyone choose it?
It is SO abnormal, anti-family and anti-God.

She’s kinda cute.......for a lesbian. Sad.

Indeed she is, and it is sad.

It is slander to make defamatory judgments with insufficient evidence, with no evidence, or against the evidence.

Please don't ping me back. I choose not to associate with you.

Absolutely a gay man could marry a lesbian and be happy. That's the kind of "gay marriage" that's always been legal, and laudable.

One of the most famous (or notorious) lesbians of my generation was Andrea Dworkin. She lived for 31 years with "the love of her life" John Stoltenberg, the last 7 years they were actually, formally married --- and faithful --- yet she never sopped calling herself a lesbian, and he always said he was a gay man.

Strange, all right. Strange.

But hey, at least they were straight about marriage!

We are all tempted to sin, even Jesus was. That’s why His sacrifice was effective as redemption for mankind.

He was able to remain sinless; I have not. So I don’t want to be judgmental of anybody, not even homosexuals.

But on the other hand, I resist temptation as best I can, with the help of the Lord, and I certainly do not try to promote any sins that I have committed as right and virtuous, or as anything but what they are: sins.

Does that make me a hypocrite? Many on the Left would probably say so, as it is their favorite epithet after racist, Nazi, and bigot.

So be it.

Oh, yep, there it is. I thought the lesbians had a loophole but I guess not. Oh well.

Hey, when I'm wrong, I can take it. I was wrong. No Lesbian Loophole. My bad.

"There are a fair number of Christian FReepers who are deeply shocked and distressed at the concept of accepting a calling to lifelong celibacy"<<

I have never seen that here. I have seen objections to require celebacy.

I have seen several related but distinguishable views: objections that anybody could be required to be celibate (is that not a requirement for those who have an exclusively homosexually inclination?) and objections that people could have a recognized celibate vocation. Some FReepers even comment with alarm that celibacy is “unnatural”!! Good grief!

I can’t quite make out your viewpoint. Are you saying that if people engage in homosexual acts, it’s their right to do so? I’m a Christian who formerly lived as a lesbian and I ceertainly wouldn’t agree with that.

I am in BIG trouble if it is sin to WANT to have physical contact with attractive women, even if I resist. I don’t believe it is sin.

Jesus did a good job of clarifying the OT law for us ... He stressed that it was the heart condition that we are judged by ...

Please prayerfully consider Matt. 5:28

but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

St. Paul mentions it when he talks about people with lust for their own sex.
