WASHINGTON -- How much skin can a girl show before it's a sin? Modesty can be a sticky subject, even among Christians.
But experts say being modest doesn't mean a woman can't let her beauty shine.
In fact, that's the point.
If you look around, it's easy to think modesty is dead. Everywhere we look images tell us less is more, and the pressure for young girls to look sexy has never been more potent.

"It all has to do with beauty, but beauty should really come from the inside out," explained Jaime Jamgochian, a worship leader and the creator of Modest is Hottest.
"Unfortunately, the generation that we're living in says the less you wear, the more hot and beautiful you are. But there's something really beautiful to mystery," she said.
Jamgochian never dreamed she'd be preaching demureness. But she said if you look around, even in the church, you'll see it's needed.
"I didn't come to know the Lord until I was much older; I was 21," she shared. "I didn't grow up in youth groups or doing any of that so when I began growing in Christ and knowing Jesus I realized 'Wow, why are we dressing the same way I used to dress in the clubs?" she said.

A well done LBD (Little Black Dress) can cover everything and with the right intelligent woman, be as sexy as anything. Actually, an intelligent woman can wear burlap and be attractive if she can get 10 minutes. We males are sometimes our own worst enemies in being attracted to the wrong things. Then again women frequently do the same in going after “Bad Boys”!
Dear Lord, give us strength and wisdom!
I love the way the women of India dress. They look so beautiful and elegant. If I were from India I would wear a sari every day. Gee! What is the American national dress? Blue jeans!

Our Chaplain said that up to the count of ten, a kiss was just a kiss. After the count of 10, it was a mortal sin.
I suppose it could have been a slip of the tongue. ;-)
I don’t think you would like to see all the fat American women dressed in sari.
Blue jeans is preferable for now.
Ever seen Vietnamese women in their beautiful outfits? These dresses are also not appropriate for most American women as they would “reveal” too much skin on them.
I have seen some dumpy older Indians and, yet, they still look elegant in their saris. They usually cover their midriffs.
When I hired into the CYA, the institutions with inmates over 17 allowed Playboys and such to be mailed in to the inmates.
We got a superintendent with some balls and he called a meeting of supervisors to announce the new policy of no porn magazines. He said certain body parts could not be shown. One old-timer asked “Do you mean beavage and cleavage or just beavage.” 10 minutes of laughter.
Magazines were banned.
Some girls in blue jeans show too much .
Girls who wear these hip hugger jeans show too much. They bend over and when that happens, you see the great divide. Not a pretty sight.
I bet that did not go over well with the inmates...
not too well. Some staff members brought in Playboy and player and others. Don’t know if any got caught.
