I saw this happen in Michigan 25 yrs. ago where the Priest shortage had gotten so bad they were riding a 60-mile circuit. Sorry to see all that other crazy stuff going on in Archbishop Fulton Sheen's diocese though.

From all I’ve heard, Sheen was actually part of the problem—personally Holy, but a lousy administrator and a bad judge of administrative character. He lost control of the chancery, and it was all downhill from there.
