on Fridays

When growing up we never ate meat on Fridays - was always fish

I can remember about 3 Catholc families in the small town I grew up in. We always had fish on Fridays for those families. It was no big deal because we liked fish too. I think we were more tolerant back then than today.

It never went away...it was just tossed aside during the last 50 years.

Just curious. Did that include shellfish?

I’m guessing that poultry was considered “meat”?
