Yes, there is a lot of local control, and that is great. But what happens when the local congregation goes off the rails?

Though I will admit, with the ecclesiastical structure of most SBC churches that I have had (limited) contact with, that usually isn’t an issue.

Check out the news report on one of these priests. Pedophile Priest On The Run He was suspended during his stint in Los Angeles for abusing children, but never arrested. Instead, the church moved him to Mexico where he continued his satanic abuse of children. He has been suspended again! Suspended! This is why people don't trust the church to clean their own house. Why won't the bishop help find this man?

Will you stop hiding? Will you admit the truth? Children are being abused continually by men who claim to be pure and holy. That is why they are trusted. Yet, Catholics are more concerned with protecting their church than with protecting children. This is obvious to any clear-sighted observer, but not to those indoctrinated into believing that their church is holy. God is holy. Look to Him for Truth - not your bloated, corrupt church.

I did not view the news video --- hearing deficiency (ear) + audio weakness (computer) here --- but if it happened as you stated, it was done illegally per Catholic canon law. A priest suspended a divinis cannot be a minister of any sacrament or even identify himself as a priest, therefore whoever consented to, or sponsored his functioning as a priest after suspension, was acting in defiance of legitimate Church authority and Catholic canon law.

These men are corrupt to precisely the degree that they have rejected what Christ teaches us through His Church. People acting in defiance of legitimate Church authority and Catholic canon law do horrible things. This sickens and outrages us. I think we'd both agree on that?

I don't know the details, but since he was from LA, I'm thinking Mahony might have had a hand in it? IF this is the case --- and I don't know that it is --- hey, I'm for putting the Judas priests AND Mahony in prison. If it were up to me -- and if I'd had evidence--- it would have happened 25 years ago.

Nobody's going to justify this kind of criminal predation. They deserve punishment in this world, and if nor repentant, in the world to come, forever.
