Walvoord: The principle of spiritualizing Scripture and avoiding its literal exegesis if applied to prophecy could as well be applied to other fields. In any event, the old conservative, Biblical postmillennialism has long since passed from the contemporary scene.

wmfights: I thought that was particularly interesting, especially when you see in the news that some Reformed churches are now going to start marrying homosexuals.

If this eschatological view was "long since passed from the scene" in 1947, how can it be held liable for those same denominations condoning homosexual marriage today? "Long since" was more than 67 years ago!

How many postmillennial Reformed denominations do you believe are out there today, wmfights?

I consider the Preterist view to be Postmillennial.

The spiritizing of Scripture which the Postmillennials do is what opened the door to ignoring the literal words of Scripture.

As previously noted I believe the Preterist view is Postmillennial. I would put the Presbyterians in this group. I believe the Lutherans are Amillennial. However, both churches have fallen into the trap of allegorical interpretation of Scripture and we are seeing the liberal results today.
