Who was the reporter responsible for this hoax?
Hoax is too soft a description. Blood libel is more appropriate.
I read a report earlier that the one given credit for the story was openly insisting she did not write it.
‘I never used that word ‘dumped’,” Catherine Corless, a local historian in Co Galway, tells The Irish Times. “I never said to anyone that 800 bodies were dumped in a septic tank. That did not come from me at any point. They are not my words.”
Ok so the researcher, the source, said the reporter lied. Ok.
