This is a well-crafted and very coherent essay, and therefore it was very hard to capture the essence of it is a 300-word excerpt. Please follow the link and read the whole thing, would you?
Class discuss.
(My verdict: it's excellent.)
What a great article. I can’t believe it was published in the quasi-MSM.
Your thoughts?
There are alcoholic, drug-abusing, adulterous, bigoted, kleptomaniac and prideful sinners who are Catholic, why not homosexual? Sin is sin.
“I figured, everybody has to sacrifice something. God doesn’t promise that He’ll only ask you for the sacrifices you agree with and understand.”
This used to be a common understanding among Christians. No longer.
This is the exact type of person Pope Francis was referring to when he said “if they are seeking God, who am I to judge?”
Has this happened to anyone else?
I mean, my whole evening was spoiled. I was so embarrassed. Had I done something ugly to make people think that we were lesbians? I have been self-conscious about this ever since.
And it did not dispose me any better toward the gay agenda.
At least this guy gets it. We love our friends. There is nothing sexual about it.
:: Right now, the Biblical witness seems pretty clear. .
Both opposite-sex and same-sex love are used, in the Bible, as images of God’s love. ::
Absolutely and completely wrong. As a matter of fact, damnably wrong...loss of salvation wrong.
What homosexuals engage in is best described as sodomy. God does not sodomize His creation and call it love.
Gay Christian? Is that not an oxymoronic use of words?
I don’t care, and (checking.....) I still don’t care.
That’s a very good piece.
“that is what some of your were” ...”Go and sin no more”
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?(I) Do not be deceived:(J) Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers(K) nor men who have sex with men[a](L) 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers(M) will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were.(N) But you were washed,(O) you were sanctified,(P) you were justified(Q) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
...”Go and sin no more.” John 8
I Corinthians 6
Romans 1:25-17, since that passage is rarely mentioned in conjunction with so-called “Christian” homosexuals.
To be unashamedly gay is to have no shame....
I’m not a Catholic because there are certain Catholic teachings I don’t agree with. When I realized that, it never occurred to me to try to change the Church. All it meant was that I wasn’t Catholic. And, I’ve never had a “problem” with real Catholics, some of whom are far more spiritually advanced than I’ll ever be without some serous divine intervention.
But “cafeteria Catholics” turn my stomach. What they are is not “Catholic” - it’s moral cowardice and hypocrisy. And unfailingly it shows in other areas of their lives as well.
In the end, a person’s REAL religion is how they live their life. People who think they can bullshit God are the most deluded of all.
Great article. My 2 cents:
Any unrepentant sinner is doomed for hell. That’s it, class dismissed.
Oxymoron = Gay Christian
Interesting article. Thank you for posting. I pray more people find their way to Christ.
There has to be a tornado of confusion spinning in her head.
.
Errr...not really. Marriage is better. Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, etc. were better off than Jonathan and David. Both are important, yes.
I am glad you posted this, and was surprised at this young lady's commitment. I do think she is a bit off base, and hopefully she will realize that her inner heart--her sexuality--must be dealt with...but she is definitely on the right path if she is abstaining from bad behavior. Of course, Christ wants to change our hearts not just our hands....and other body parts. :)
God bless.
