The Rabbi sees but does not see, hears but does not hear. Yet he knows all things. I had two such rabbis/professors in grad school years ago (at a very large midwestern state university), at least one of whom is very well known today.

Name names....if I don’t know their denomination, I can’t tell you if it’s in the same ballpark. Were they Reconstructionist? Conservative? Orthodox?
