Each religion and denomination has their own take-away I’m sure....

Another teaching from the (Jewish) portion of Genesis which includes the flood story, is from Noah’s inebriation. His sons walk backwards (with the blanket over their shoulders, to cover their naked father) “...and did not see his nakedness...”

From this we learn that, since implicit in walking backwards is that they obviously didn’t physically SEE Noah, they additionally DID NOT SEE HIS NAKEDNESS by judging him. They merely did what was expected to honor their father and help/cover him. From the Chassidic master Rabbi Israel Baal Shem (18th century) when we see an apparent defect in someone, it is G-d’s diving providence leading us to that very situation...so that we can act appropriately. (This part is extremely difficult to live up to...hold on tightly...) IF we analyze the actions/situation and help/contribute in the way we can, then we’ve passed the test. IF we merely judge and assume the whole worth of the person is nothing more than their failure at the time we saw/judged them...then we ourselves HAVE THE VERY TENDENCY THAT the failure/sinner has within us.

This is a g’valdike zach....an unbelievable enlightenment of the seemingly simple narrative of the Bible. So even is the movie was political claptrap (I haven’t seen it but read reviews that it doesn’t mention G-d and that it gives a “save the animals!” bent on the story...) LETS try to live up to the higher teachings in the story.

**(This part is extremely difficult to live up to...hold on tightly...) **

I usually open my mouth when I should remain quiet and non-judging.
