While I agree with you that the battle is over and we lost (short of a Civil War or Sucession) and that gay marriage will be shoved down our throats by the courts, probably at in the next few years. I disagree that the numbers who support gay marriage will keep growing, I think, like abortion (and unlike say, interracial marriage), where opposition is based on strong held religious tenants there is "hard ceiling" for support of gay marriage and come hell or high-water you will have 40% to 45% who will NEVER support it no matter how much the media pushes and browbeats. Again, look at abortion, opposition is essentially unchanged since 1970....
Resistance to abortion is growing. That fight, unlike the homosexual marriage fight, is likely to be won.

At one time, those in favor advocated:
returning runaway slaves to their masters,
placing Japanese Americans in prison camps,
sending jews and gypsys and other undesirables to concentration/genocide camps.
Be very careful about supporting what “those in favor” choose, it could end up costing you your freedoms and your life.
