However, my objections are [the] willful distortions of the Scripture, and often poor acting .

Luckily, we, by the grace of God, still live in a country where we're free to object. (And God only knows how long that will last!)

I'm honestly curious: Given your objections, what would be solution to these distortions and poor acting?

“If you look at movie history, The Ten Commandments were a long time ago”

This one was not too long ago and got no publicity. Check it out. It’s great and 100% taken from scripture.

Downey by her own admission has strayed very far away from Catholicism and she certainly did in this movie.

I’m not surprised given they got so silly with race in the series

Good works

Whatever

The irony is the old Jews made better Jesus movies

Hello people...get a grip

This movie (and series) is supposed to be a tool to reach people for Christ...

To let the Holy Spirit move people toward either knowledge of Christ or a reconciliation of the believer...

Does it touch on the fundamentals of the Christian faith "?

1. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1; John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8-9).
2. The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27).
3. The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28; Romans 3:25, 5:9; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:12-14).
4. The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36-46; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 15:14-15).
5. The inerrancy of the scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6-7; Romans 15:4;

As long as it does these things some Hollywood license should be no big deal

There isn't going to be one believer who walks out of the theater and throws away their salvation over a movie...

If anything it will inspire them to walk closer to their Lord...

“I’m not surprised given they got so silly with race in the series”

Samson was an Israelite and a Hebrew judge of Israel. The Bible does not say Samson was black, nor that he was not of the Jewish race. This is a PC stretch from Downey and husband.

A film, based on one of hundreds of interpretations of Revelation would be very divisive.

That is entirely unnecessary: All it needs to do is say and illustrate what he saw and heart.

This video does a fairly good job: http://christianvisualmedia.com/index.php/jomsocial/42-david/videos/video/1130-the-book-of-revelations-full-movie-the-revelation-of-jesus-christ But i do not know if it is legally uploaded.

This may be the right time again to post your good links to orthodox productions of the Gospel. I think I remember you did so the first time we discussed this movie.

I did not post them, but here are some legal to watch that could be worth watching when you are too tired to do much else:

Don’t accept mediocrity. It’s how we got to where we are in the first place. The denial of truth.

Billy Graham knew this and for 50 years never strayed from a salvation message. There was no meat from BG, but there was truckloads of milk. The average movie goer has no clue what is actually in the Bible so why not just give them a taste of Jesus and they will want more and find out for themselves.

Thank you chuckles. I joined one of the largest Pentecostal Churches in the U.S. back in the early '80s. As a long-haired rock and rolling 20-something, I hardly fit the mold of the Pentecostals.

The Pastor, Bro. James Kilgore, told me that they were going to tell me I had to cut my hair, I couldn't watch TV and on and on. He said DO NOT listen to any of them. He said study your Bible, fast and pray, seek the Lord and let Him lead you, not any man.

If this movie, or any other vehicle, causes people to do that then it is a Gift from God and I thank the Lord Jesus for it. I don't care who or where it came from.
