I listened to Rush for a short time today, and when the subject of Pope Francis arose, I turned off the radio. Rush is a very intelligent man, but.. Ditto (no pun intended) but I kept the program on. Rush tends to view things in political terms. It is challenging for secularists to comprehend that when the pope speaks, he addresses a global audience. Rush continues to view the topic as if were addressed to Americans. What's most disappointing, though, is that Rush continues to cite msm sources for his arguments, rather than delving into the actual document or catholic sources. Moreover, I don't think he is familiar with the church's teaching on subsidiarity.

Well said, and I agree. Imho, this subject is a complicated one, and really requires a more extensive examination than is possible for Rush, who has hundreds of stories to consider daily.
