I’ve only gone to Mass a couple of times in the past few decades, but the de-ritualized version looks and sounds hollow, and the Peter, Paul and Mary wannabe “music” Sucks.
Find a church where you like the music and get back to regular attendance.
Of course, after confession, receive the Eucharist, which will strengthen you in this endeavor.
At least the Catholic Church has revived some of the pre-Vat II responses: the Nicene Creed, “And with your spirit”, the Communion prayer & others are now pre-Novus Ordo.
JMHO, but I think the MSM & liberals in general are sorely mistaken to claim Pope Francis as one of their own. He ministers in person to the sick & the lame while taking his meals in the common refectory, but that doesn’t make him a socialist revolutionary.
Slightly off topic, but I wish the liturgists would do away with the Sign of Peace. Boy do I wish they would do away with it. That’s the biggest Sixties touchy-feely leftover of all. In 1975 I attended Mass where the priest did not call for the SOP. I asked him why & he replied, “Son, I’m the celebrant. When I say `the peace of the Lord be with you all’, that’s all there is, there ain’t no more!”
Many are mistaken if they think the music is all that needs a-fixing. The New Mass was completely overhauled to make it more modernist and ecumenical. No wonder it looks and sounds hollow.
