Dear,GPM
Oh Brother!

Internet theology is a joke when you interpret things wrong

“The Bread which you see on the altar, having been sanctified by the Word of GOD, is the Body of Christ. That chalice, or rather, what is in that chalice, having been sanctified by the Word of GOD, is the Blood of Christ.” -St. Augustine of Hippo, Sermons, 227, 393AD

Blessed Augustine did write many retractions and at times was not as clear as he was in the quote I showed. Augustine and some others were so convinced of our Lord in the Eucharist that they took it for granted and may have used words loosely that are not interpreted in a modern sense

Some of Augustine’s unclear writings is the reason of contention of our Eastern orthodox brothers

Do more searching,dear friend.

“Augustine and some others were so convinced””

Correction: You are so convinced that Augustine believed in transubstantiation, because to believe otherwise is a fatal blow to your Catholicism.

Obviously, a look at Augustine’s entire view on John 6 and his view on sacraments, over the small snippets offered by the Romanists, proves a very different story.
