[CATHOLIC CAUCUS] I have seen the enemy and he is amongst us...

Brethren, Peace and Good to all of you.

I want to provide you with a link to a troubling essay written by Father Dariusz Oko, a Polish priest. I will not comment, but I think you ought to read it. This is an excerpt:

The Holy See ... has given us a clear sign, a direction on how such problems should be solved. Concealing the behaviour of dishonest persons, which will sooner or later be exposed anyway, destroys the authority of the Church. The faithful spontaneously ask about the reliability of a community which tolerates such arrangements. If we make an a priori assumption that no lobby of homosexual priests has ever existed, exists now or will exist in the future, we actually support the phenomenon. The homosexual lobby of the clergy get off scot-free and become a serious threat"
Read it all here. I will welcome your comments in the combox, should you have any.

Thank you for posting this. As a life-long Catholic who has been more than aware of this scourge in the Church, I am heartened to realize the extent of Pope Benedict’s handling of this issue. This letter is very powerful. It is another example of the truth that only truth can set us free.

What a deep mess. I think I read that a Cardinal from Britian resigned as he was exposed for having had sex with priests. The corruption runs deeps for all the compromises, excuses, rationalizations and cover ups. In time, everyone in power is smeared. : (

The whole essay is very powerful, but the best part is the warning that, if left undisturbed, in order to buy peace, that the church can be destroyed.

The size of the problem is much bigger than many faithful Catholics can even believe.

Since the Gates of Hell cannot prevail, the Holy Spirit will have to correct matters, and soon.

If it’s Peter Turkson, that will be a very powerful sign. And Amchurch will not continue as before.

Amchurch?

Do you mean the Catholic Church in America?

Very good essay, and very timely.

It was easy to underestimate the work done by His Holiness to eradicate the "homomafia".

Benedict XVI is a great gift of the Providence, just like his honourable predecessor, John Paul II. Let us stand together on Benedict XVI’s side, just as we would have stood on the side of Blessed John Paul the Great. They were such a wonderful, wise and courageous duet of apostles. They agreed and supported each other so much – also on this matter

Yes. The expression is from Paul Likoudas’ book Amchurch Comes Out (2004) about the homosexual dissent movement within the Catholic clergy in America.

My reference is to a schismatic movement, not to the whole Church in America - although certain Jesuits have threatened that, if Rome should take measures to truly suppress homosexualism in the clergy that many or even most churches in America would not have priests.

This is certainly an exaggeration, but the problem is very large and if it is successfully suppressed the resulting church will be very different, IMO.
