Actually I should have elaborated just a bit on my feeling that it’s allegorical. Did you know that the muslim population represents roughly 1/3 of the world’s population? The one theme throughout the Trumpets is the reoccurring number of 1/3.

Also:
Mountain = kingdom or nation (Daniel & Jeremiah)
Trees & grass = People (Isaiah)
Seas = people and/or nation (Revelations)
Falling stars (or just stars) = Angels

When viewed this way it seems like we’re in those times right about now anyway.

The Lord speaks to us in the Word of Prophecy in allegorical terms to convey a literal truth and the Bible should always be taken literaly and when allegorical language is used, the literal meaning must be searched out but on God in the person of the Holy Spirit will give its meaning by both reading and God opening our understaning of His sciptures.
