Until the 1972 election, Catholics had either never voted republican, or had once in 1956 (depending on the source), today’s Catholic vote is the best that it has ever been, and winning 48% of the Catholic vote in 2012 is a pretty good year for republicans and Catholics, in fact, one of the best in history.

48% is less than half. When I said Liberation Theology and Social Gospel are to blame, I was talking about Catholics and Protestants (especially the mainline Protestants). People vote for the socialism because they’ve been taught that it is Christlike. After all, everyone wants to feed the poor, right? I think that many choose to ignore the abortion-on-demand side of socialism.
