Cardinal Dolan’s benediction was a work of inspired genius. He hit all the high points that needed to be made to this particular audience and to the world: the sanctity of life, religious freedom, traditional marriage. To deliver this message in the Lion’s Den, as it were, took a tremendous amount of courage and conviction that could only come from God. Watching the faces of those attending the convention was priceless. A few seemed to be edified by the Cardinal’s words, but I saw a lot of annoyed and hostile faces, and not a few faces that were convicted and struggling with guilty consciences. Bless you, Cardinal Dolan.
Well said. Cardinal Dolan’s comments, coming at a convention in which God was booed, and a convention in which they were pushing abortion and homosexual marriage, showed courage on the part of the Cardinal.
