The First Mormon President? Does Faith Matter? [Yes, indeed!!! Lest we have a false god leading USA]

...Romney keeps his focus simple: fix the economy. But others are fixated on something else: his faith.

SNIP

Some call it a cult...

Yet Mormons call themselves Christians, which raises eyebrows, especially within evangelical circles.

Shawn McCraney is a former Mormon who now hosts a show called, 'Heart of the Matter," where he witnesses to Mormons in Salt Lake City.

"...I didn't know the Lord and that led me to an internal angst."

"What happened was I came to realize that there was nothing I could do to get myself right before God -- where with Mormonism...it's you have to do it," he explained. "He gives you the opportunity, but it's up to you to perform, and I couldn't perform."

...any controversy over a Mormon president may...center on...whether Romney would put loyalty to the Mormon Church ahead of anything else.

Former Mormon and author Michael Moody has written the book, Mitt, Set Our People Free...

"When I was a little boy, the Mormon prophet was a more important man than the president of the United States," Moody told CBN News.

"Mitt Romney has knelt in the Mormon temples," he noted. "He has taken an oath of consecration. He has taken an oath of sacrifice. He has said that he will sacrifice everything that he is, and give all of his talents, and everything that he has and is to the Mormon Church."

...Moody said a Romney victory would be a big deal for the Mormon Church.

"If Mitt Romney gets in the White House, it's going to be a sign to all of the Mormon people that they're on the right path, that this is the truth, and it's going to help perpetuate their missionary program. It's going to put the Mormon Church in a more powerful position..."

“This is a big moment for Catholic voters to step back from their party affiliation,” Baltimore archbishop William E. Lori tells me from the Knights of Columbus annual convention in Anaheim, California.

For Catholic voters in November, Lori advises, “The question to ask is this: Are any of the candidates of either party, or independents, standing for something that is intrinsically evil, evil no matter what the circumstances? If that’s the case, a Catholic, regardless of his party affiliation, shouldn’t be voting for such a person.”

You can argue forever on Romney’s change of heart, how
convenient, now he is for life. Cough, cough....

Important, do not forget, Mormons deny Our Lord is God.
They are non-Trinitarians believing the most outrageous
things since the 1820s, pretty new sect, yes? How then is Romney going to receive God’s grace to lead this country unless he leaves Mormonism and finds THE faith (Eph 4:5)? Pray for his conversion.

And remember, sodomy is a grave evil, Romney supports it,
you can’t vote for him for that reason. You cooperated.

Seek help. Your head meds are not working, you only think you’re okay.

When I read your ramblings, this is what I see:

Be nice to the proselytizing Skywriter!
Until he converts all persons that do not think as he goes, his business is to continue to harangue!
So un-Christian of Colofornian!

You disgust me at a visceral level. You are filled with pride for the cut and paste that you cherish so greatly, but that few bother to read. As long as you are allowed to post here, I will never give another dime to this forum. Your existence in this country is a detriment and drag to all of our prosperity and long term survival. Please leave.

IOW, you worship your wallet and bank account. And if somebody is deemed to get in the way of that pursuit, they need to herded off to some reservation.

Hmmm...Where have I heard that worldview expressed before...??? (Oh, it'll come to me sometime)

“One can be totally opposed to the Mormon religion, due to its false doctrines about Christ and the Holy Trinity—and still be in favor of a Mormon holding a political office. That, in fact, is where I stand.”

Where is God’s grace going to come from to help Mitt make
the right decisions? Mormonism is a non-Christian, absolutely crazy sect.

Well, Jesus Christ loves you. (And He says I need to love you, too)

You are a person of great worth to our Lord, just like Mitt is and all Mormons.

No sarcasm at all in that sentiment.

In my heart I do hope Romney wins, but he will have to do it without my vote.

It would be immoral for me before God to vote for someone who supports what his proven track record clearly shows he supports.

Not to mention hypocritical to vote against the principles by which I live my life.

Not to mention cowardly to not stand my ground. Conservatism can only compromise so far before it is no longer conservatism but the very evil which we are suppose to oppose.

The conservative movement is being rendered irrelevant or worse by those of us who say they stand for something but then do not stand.

If I tell my kids I'm going to punish them but I fail to follow thru they know I am a wimp and they are free to ignore me and do what they want.

They will go the way of the world as does the GOP.

When the band aid needs to come off it is better to rip it off quickly and get it over with.

Delaying the inevitable is more painful.

If it's immoral for you to vote for Romney, how can it be moral for you to hope in your heart that he wins?

Yes, even aside from Mitt's "I'm a god" arrogance, he told Katie Couric in Dec of '07 that parents could either give up their embryonic offspring for "adoptions" (I think he was referencing the Snowflake adoption process) -- or they could "donate" their offspring to "research."

Tell you what: Any PARENT who supports that statement -- be consistent by giving some of your live offspring over to "research" while letting the other(s) remain alive.

And once again we have another Religion Forum thread high jacked by people who know nothing about Mormonism but are willing to defend it because they suffer from ObamaHysteria.

(Hey, if we had a Dennis Prager CONSERVATIVE type of candidate ...he's Jewish...worships the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as I do... then I'd vote for that kind of candidate)

People who keep trying to make this, "Oh, you are vying for a candidate whose faith checklist is 100% like yours" can only offer up straw men to avoid evaluating Mormonism in any real way.

Hang in there. When your debate opponents respond with only insults and hostility, it shows that they have no arguments. The truth about Mormonism needs to be revealed whether the supporters of Romney are troubled by it or not. It is a sad day when so many self-proclaimed conservatives are threatened by the truth.

Well, golly geewhiz, Batman!

It’s either:

A. vote for the continued takeover of the country by Communists,

or,

B. vote for the Mormon!

I dunno know about you, but I have been against Communism my whole life, and should the time come, to depose these mongrel dogs, and begin to save the country, that is what I am going to do!
