He didn’t say you had to be of the same religion or belief just be able to recognize a tyrant. If you can’t recognize a tyrant I doubt you can recognize a Christian or anything else. Just your own group...

I didn't say the person we vote for had to be of the same religion (I might vote for a believing Jew as long as he was counterculture to many of the liberal Jews of today -- and was akin to somebody like Dennis Prager...I believe at least Dennis Prager probably worships the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as I do)

YOU (plural YOU) just need to be able to recognize a candidate who pretends to be divine. (That's good for beginning discernment)
IF YOU CAN'T RECOGNIZE AN IDOLATRY-LADEN CANDIDATE WHEN HE POPS UP RIGHT IN YOUR FACE I DOUBT YOU CAN RECOGNIZE ANY IDOL IN ANY CULTURE! NOT EVEN THE POTENTIAL IDOLS YOU (plural you) MIGHT EMBRACE AS SUBSTITUTES FOR GOD IN YOUR LIFE.
