What John means is obviously ALL have sinned and are in need of being saved. Sin is in us, but once the born agian experience happens, that is it! You guys use translation of certain scripture to justify sinning and shame on you!
Can you imagine the apostles still sinning after they were filled with the spirit? Of course not!
You are imposing onto God our own limitation.
We exist in time. God does not. That has real implications.
For us A follows B follow C follows D. God is above that.
To God Sin sin saved sin sin is exactly the same as
sin sin sin sin saved.
Jesus said “It is finished.”. And then 2000 years of sinning went on. Did Jesus lie? Not from his point of view.
“What John means is obviously ALL have sinned and are in need of being saved. Sin is in us, but once the born agian experience happens, that is it!”

Jesus to a Protestant messenger

For too many have listened to the lies told by the false shepherds and prophets. They speak of how you each are already cleansed and adorned in righteousness simply by your belief on My name. These are all lies, My people. For does not My word say that he who does righteousness is righteous? Yes, My people, you are made righteous by your faith in Me, but it is fulfilled by your obedience to My voice. It IS NOT imputed to you by a one-time confession of My name.
No, John means what he said...Paul already told us that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God...We already knew that...
Romans 7 has a little bit to say about it...As well as the rest of the NT...
Christ did NOT say 'born again' to Nicodemus. He said born from above.... verse 13 makes the instructional to Nicodemus and then to any who read His words quite plain. To 'see' the kingdom of God one must be born from above, just as Luke described the conception of Christ.
What was it that the serpent whispered into the woman's ear????

Paul reports that Peter "was to be blamed" (Galatians 2:11) for holding himself separate from the Gentile Christians.
