A precious member of our family is in need of your prayers. Richard, aka Little Man, is 2 and a half yrs. old. After receiving what his parents were told were "every test known to man" during Christmas, and being sent home with a tube for feeding (he had been admitted after weeks of diarrhea which caused dehydration) began vomiting a week ago. His Mom insisted upon re-admittance to the hospital which they did. The doctor ordered a catscan and ultrasound (why that wasn't done before is beyond us, but we put that away for another day). The test found a tennis ball size tumor, and immediately proceeded to go after a biopsy. Once in, seeing the tumor was attached to no vital organ, the removed it right away.
Yesterday, we heard the news that the biopsy came back and is malignant. We do not know at this time what type of cells or any other information. Our entire extensive family is praying, and we would ALL appreciate the prayers of FReepers, we believe the more prayers, the better! Thank you all!!
God, our Father is the Author and Creator of Life. Jesus is the Great Physician. God wants your little fellow well and He hears every prayer spoken on his behalf. Speak health and healing and wholeness over Richard every chance you get and in every prayer you speak. Speak courage and faith to his parents. God is greater than this disease.
Fervant prayers for the little one.
Thank you Faith, and thank you all. The response to my request for prayers is truly overwhelming. I and my entire family are so grateful.
More prayers
Prayers going up for this little fellow!
upon those who bow before Thy majesty;
that they who are refreshed by Thy divine gift may ever be sustained by heavenly aid,
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who livest and reignest,
with You Almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God; for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayers sent for baby Richard and his family.
Prayers continue for Little Man Richard and your extended family. We pray the surgery successfully removed not only the tumor, but all traces of disease in his young body.
ping to self, will be posting an update soon.
The doctors found out Richards bowels was twisted, and operated to correct it last week. (Not unusual when the abdomen
has been operated on) After the operation, Richard was feeling MUSH better, sat up and played, his bowels are forming properly and he is eating again. Knowing they would need to test his bone they inserted a port to do that, while they were in there. The good news is the bones tests came back clean!! Praise God!!
The bad news is he has stage 3 Abdominal Neuroblastoma. He will definitely require some chemotherapy when all the test are completed.
He now has a staph infection around his heart, which started at the site of the port. He will be getting chemo with antibiotics.
Needless to say this is not good, any of it. Our hearts are breaking for his parent and for Richard. Mom and Dad have not left the hospital for weeks and have not worked. Dad left one morning, and that was when the staph started, so he hasn't left since.
My niece started a chip-in account for them, and although we are not a family of means, there are a lot of us, and I am sure we will all sacrifice to do something, no matter how small.
They need continued prayers, more than ever. Thank you all for the Prayers offered up, they mean so much much to all of us who love this dear boy so!!
Thank you Faith. As many of you know, we are not close enough to do so in person, but Little Man’s Great grandmother, (My Mom) is and so are his Grandparent. Great grandma also got in touch with her Pastor, who went right up, and he qill be visiting often.

Sorry for all the typos, and double post. My mind is quite rattled right now. Thank you for understanding.
Heavenly Father,
You knitted Richard in his mother’s womb. You can speak a word and this child is healed instantly, but we trust in You to heal him in Your own way and in Your own time. We thank You, Father, that healing is Your children’s bread. We praise You for taking care of Richard and his family, and we know that You will do great and mighty things in him and in all who love him as they trust in You. Our trust and hope are in You, Father, for You love this child far more than anyone on earth. Great is Your faithfulness, Lord God. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Received this from Little Man's Dad today.
“We are finally home after 28 days at Kosair Children's Hospital. Richard is finished with his first round of chemo and he is still feeling great. Thank you again to all of our family and friends for their love and support. It is amazing to know how many people care about our son. He still has a long road ahead of him and we ask that you please continue to pray for him as he goes through this difficult treatment.”
Thanks you all for your prayers, and Praise God he is home and feeling so well. I also would like to ask for your continued prayers for a complete cure.
Thanks for the update. Praise God for His wonderful watch care over Richard. May He strengthen, protect, and heal His precious one.
Good to hear this.
UPDATE!!!! 1/2/2012
Got this today from Little Mans Mom:
We had a crazy year in 2012, but things are looking up for 2013!
Little Mans latest scans showed that his tumor is stable so he
is officially done with treatment! We got to visit my dad,
Patrick Rankin in the beginning of December, which was a great
early Christmas treat. We have been blessed this year in so many
ways.
We are all just as thrilled as we can be!! Still have not figured out how to post a picture here, not very pc savvy, but sure wish I could. We love this little guy so much. What a blessing!!! Happy New Year!!
