The same protections are not in place for Catholics, though. Feel free to use the terms Papist, Romanist, RC (sounds like a British slang term), mick, dogan, fish-eater, mackerel snapper, and any number of other derogatory terms for Catholics, priests, bishops, nuns, sisters, cardinals, popes, and saints. All have been given active or tacit approval on many occasions.
And referring to people as "backwoods, snake-handling goobers" isn't racism? Somehow I get the idea that if some liberal politician said this FR would be all over him.
But apparently the rules are different when conservative Catholics spew the same hateful vitriol.
