What i meant by “requires submission to her to be assured of” was not salvation, concerning which Rome teaches that works done by grace are meritorious for salvation (Trent), but that of assurance that Rome is what she claims to be, as only by faith in Rome’s formulaic assured infallibility can man have doctrinal assurance. Fallible human reasoning can be appealed to, but once one becomes a a Catholic it is taught that he is not to question Rome’s infallible teachings (though it is not known what all may be included as such) or search the Scriptures to determines their validity.

As concerns cults, #4 is foundational, as a typical mark of such is that of effectively making a man or an office the supreme doctrinal authority on earth, rather than the Scriptures, which is the only objective source which we are assured are wholly inspired of God, (2Tim. 3:16) and thus assuredly infallible. And this is not restricted to Rome, or Mormonism, etc, but churches who censure those who dare sincerely question doctrines and practices which are allow for some degree of debate.

Those who hold to the supremacy of Scripture cannot hold that they are infallible, but are bound to substantiate their case by the Scriptures, and the manner of doctrinal exegesis it overall manifests. And thus we agree with Rome on certain core essentials, such as is written in the Nicene Creed, while being in opposition to those which fail of Scriptural warrant, and are contrary to it.

In addition, the authenticity of true men and churches of God is not based upon self-declaration and or formal lineage, but is established by holiness, doctrine and the power of God which conforms to that which is written, which Scriptures themselves become established as being such due to their heavenly qualities. Good night.

So I take it that you agree with Bibtruts conclusion that the NIV is in error? Do you think it should be junked and only the KJV used?
