And of course what follows is the typical catholic explanation for why some who do take the time to explore Roman Catholic dogma and then reject it on the clear teaching of the Bible. OK, here we go, improper instruction in the catechism by the blessed teacher provided by Rome sweet Rome. Then of course, don't forget to blame of brother Martin and the rest of the 17th century wrecking crew. And when all else fails, there is always the flat out rebellion and satanic blindness that causes disunity.

O'h and don't forget to remind those rebellious souls that Rome wants them to unite with them (under the careful teaching of the Bishop of Rome), ignoring the fact that at best, the rebels don't have strong feelings one way or the other. Remind them daily of their trangressions (while overlooking theirs) call them all kinds of names as if name calling will get them to change their minds. And one last thing, don't forget to make the claim that there are 60,000 unique protestant demominations vs. one holy Roman Catholic church.

Despite the many godly people within them how can anybody doubt that most Protestant sects have fallen enamored of the world’s seduction and lies? So far non-denominational Protestant churches have avoided this as have some mainstream churches such as Southern Baptist, LCMS, Orthodox Presbyterian Church and others I have forgotten. Some have done so by holding fast to Scripture and the confessions of their faith. Others arose in response to the embrace of heresy within their original denominations.

But these heresies arose because they followed the practice that Scripture was to be interpeted by the light of the culture and times in which it is read. Not only do they reject the an official magesterium, they reject the a magesterium of common belief.

This did not happen overnight and it could not have happened had they not corrupted the teaching of Sola Scriptura and the teaching of self interpretation.

So the clear teaching of the Bible may not be as clear as you would like to think if people read it by their own light without guidance from either their denominations confessions or articles of faith or from a teaching magesterium.
