You still do not know this person so how can you call her lazy or anything else? She may belong to a congregation that doesn’t encourage reading the Bible.
No because the whole thing is a false statement. Either she ignores what the Pope has said or she is covering her not wanting to do so with a falsehood. If a catholic church told the congeration not to read their bibles the Bishop would most likely find out about it since it contradicts it’s teachings and it would be straighten out quick.It doesn’t run like it’s independant.
