Sorry, but the Real Presence of Christ in Holy Eucharist at every Mass is not minutia.
What I did was quote a Catholic my wife met, who claims it. I did so to show that while most of the poster’s Catholic friends may read their Bibles, at least some do not.
AND I specifically stated that it was NOT a teaching of the Catholic Church!
I hate to break it to you, but most of the Catholics I’ve met at work paid no attention to the Bible. In their defense, lots of Baptists don’t either. But I cannot agree, based on my experience, that most Catholics have read the entire Bible.
Your mileage may differ.
Nope. Citing a real event. I’ve done no wrong, but you owe me an apology...although I won’t hold my breath waiting.
I hate to break it to you, but given the agenda your posts indicate, I do not believe you.
It is what the words mean.
Unless of course it is simply referring to the followers of a heretic named Nicolas.
Exegesis and Eisegesis of Words of Yah'shua. As I said there are two way to look through a telescope.
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
There are sophomores running up and down the hallsshalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
shouting rude and ignorant things. They do not exhibit the lovingkindness of Yah'shua.
I have chosen to ignore them.
You mean, where Jesus said, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you."
Or where Paul said, "14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Or where Peter said, "16For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," 18we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someones own interpretation. 21For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
“I do not believe you.”
Ahh...and to think, a ‘FR prophet’ once suggested I was a rabid Catholic! So much for the accuracy of THAT prophet!
“Can Non-Catholics Be Saved?”
From what?

What's missing is the sola.
Perhaps you channel the spirit of Luther and scribble allein in there wherever you need it.
20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someones own interpretation.
Many will try, none will succeed.
Seriously? You don't worship God on Sunday? Attendance at Mass on Sundays is one of the precepts of the Catholic Church. The Precepts of the Catholic Church are a description of the absolute minimum actions required of Catholics regarding the Church.
The Church uses these precepts to remind us that Christian life requires a commitment to prayer and active participation in the liturgy and sacraments. If we fall below this bare-minimum level, we can't rightly consider ourselves to be in full communion with the Catholic Church.
Each of these precepts of the Catholic Church is a requirement. Together with the Ten Commandments, they represent the minimum level of moral living. Intentional violation of the precepts or the Commandments is a grave matter, meaning a mortal sin. The Catechism of the Catholic Church clarifies the reason for Sunday worship, as follows:
PART THREE
LIFE IN CHRIST
SECTION TWO
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
CHAPTER ONE
"YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND"
ARTICLE 3
THE THIRD COMMANDMENT
The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.91
It's pretty sad for anyone to suggest that worshipping God is a demand.
demand that you believe the pope is infallible,
What is your understanding of infallibility?
or that you must believe that Mary is the Mother of God
Here you are joking, right? Jesus is God; Mary is His mother; that makes Mary the Mother of God.
a thousand other things that have nothing to do with Jesus.
So far you have failed to provide a clear example of a demand made by the Catholic Church. Can you come up with some of those other "thousands of things" to cite as an example?
I wonder if we will soon be paid a visit from Nestorius!
Buddhas can walk their path any where they want...They can walk to Rome and it still won't save them...
Agree that you must walk the path, but the path has to be lain down by Jesus...You must travel His path...But it's up to you to walk it...
Perhaps what was meant was that Mary IS the Mother of God, but that has nothing to do with Jesus because Jesus is not God.
There are certainly enough anti-Trinitarians running around here these days, lecturing to the Church founded by Christ.
In theory, we agree on Sola Scriptura, for all it says is that teachings cannot CONFLICT with scripture. It does NOT say that all teachings have to come FROM scripture.
However, if we are ALL priests (per scripture), then the Catholic ‘priesthood’ is in conflict. If our sins are forgiven by faith (per scripture), then a priest who isn’t any more a priest than I am shouldn’t be assigning penance. And if the sacrifice of Jesus is PAST (see Hebrews...you ought to know it by heart now, since I’ve quoted it so often to you), then the Mass isn’t a continual sacrifice.
However, on the Assumption of Mary, scripture is silent and I wasn’t there, so whatever you wish to believe is OK - per Sola Scriptura.
Really?
That defies the plain meaning of "Scripture alone."
That is correct. “20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someones own interpretation.”
I have never claimed the writers of scripture did so on their own power or from their own ideas. On the contrary, I’ve defended it as “God-breathed”.
Last I read the RCC is growing by 1% each year and knowing that we number over 1 billion worldwide that is a lot of people converting.
