My ancestor made the jump from France about 350 years ago. Come over and visit some time.
We will. At least my children.
America and France have had a long, rich relationship that has had its ups and downs. One of the things France did recently that had Americans cheering for our French cousins is voting against the socialism and totalitarianism of the EU Constitution.
Thomas, mon ami, we welcome your prayers and share them with you. As a military dependent child, I travelled extensively through France and all of western Europe in the late 50s and early 60s and still have fond, pleasant memories of France, the people, the incredible sights all over the country, the rich history and, of course, the food!!
We join our hands with yours and say “merci beaucoup” for your prayers and support. It is with honor and humility that we join with you to keep freedom and America free and alive.
Vive la France!! (I probably got that wrong, but I haven’t been a kid for many, many years!!) :-)
God Bless you and PLEASE keep the USA in your prayers in the days ahead.
You needn’t worry about that, we keep praying.
God bless you !
Hold out ! We’ll pray for you too. Your prayers and ours will be as one.
God bless you !
Thank you for your support and prayers for our country. God Bless you and your family Thomas.
Your letter touched my heart. Thanks for your heartfelt appeal on behalf of McCain / Palin.
God Bless You
And someday I will visit France. On another issue, my take on what I read is that America would be fortunate to have a President like the current leader of France. (I know that such a thought is heresy to a lot of the Free Republic folk). I would appreciate your thoughts on Sarkozy.
I am planning on visiting France next May. Would you mind if I asked you a question, or two, or three sometime in the future?
Thank you for your prayers, Thomas.
We are praying a Rosary novena for the election. And special prayers to St. Jude and Our Lady of Victory, and those dearest to my heart, the 16 Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne. I expect they never thought the Revolution could happen in France, but it did. We may be faced with something similar and if it does occur, I pray that we would have the strength, faith, and courage that they did. Their example is awesome!
My thoughts on Sarkozy ? I can’t (because of Mr Moderator).
The truth would be better : he is a very overproud man, he despises many people, especially school teachers (my wife is a teacher), he has reduced the salaries (but doubled his), increased taxes, stopped the refund of many medecine, and above all he is strongly pro-abortion.
He said he “doesn’t know what a embryo is”...
A selfish, dreadful, horrible man.
Of course not ! Please, do !
We pray with you.
You’re right, but at present we do hope it won’t occur.
May God not let such a disaster happen !
O Lord, please, bless America !
God bless you and yours !
Thanks for praying for our country!
Come here often, it’s fun!
Were the other French presidents pro abortion? We really don’t much about that here. We just hear about their foreign policy positions, very little about internal French issues (other than his marital mis-adventures!). I appreciate your insights on him.
On another point, maybe we should have a Free Republic tour of France!
God bless you and your family, Thomas, and thank you so much for your prayers for us!
Hi Thomas -
Your prayers for our country during this crucial election are appreciated and needed - please keep it up!
Gods will be done.
Were the other French presidents pro abortion?
Of course they were. In France you MUST be pro-abortion to be elected.
