I don't know who the hell Allah is and I don't care. And I sure don't mind using the name of Allah in vain.
As for the use if G-d versus God, people will do as they wish, of course. To me, it's a stupid, rather conceited affection. But I've made that point before and will leave it at that.

The Hebrews, whom Scripture was originally given to, have no vowels in their alphabet.
But I do know that nothing whatsoever in Catholic-Christrian law or tradition prevents one from saying the word God (other than to not take it in vain -- meaning to not use it as a curse or in an abusive manner) or of spelling it correctly.
There it is. Even though the word God comes from the English middle ages, you would still recognize the need to avoid using that word in vain.
