Let me get this straight. Franken wrote a book entitled "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right," and he is apologizing for lying to many conservatives as well as Harvard.
How ironic!

So Franken used a forgery and the US mail to attempt to commit a fraud upon Ashcroft.
To: Republican Red
Fantastic point! Bet we never see or hear about this apology in the media! Or if it is reported, it will be buried!

"Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" an autobiography- by Al Franken
And do you know what- I will bet that Ashcroft's response- although not used- is something for the ages.
Forget about the "girl's who thought you were gay" what about the woman who thanks God for John Ascroft and his faithfulness...his wife.
On the other hand, think about being a partner to "Rageaholic Squirrel" aka Al Franken.(Not a professional therapist or comedian.)

"My biggest regret is sending the letter on Shorenstein Center stationery, I can assure you that no one at the Shorenstein Center had knowledge of the letter before I sent it," Franken wrote. "I am very embarrassed to have put them in this awkward and difficult position, and I ask you not to hold this against the Center, the Kennedy School, or Harvard in generalHis only regret is that he got caught.

'Cause he's bad enough,
he's stupid enough,
and, gosh darn it,
people don't like him.
Sure, he'll apologize once (obviously) caught and pressured to do so.
So it turns out that "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" is AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL.

Somebody like Drudge could get the story out but I think he hates Fox News more than Arnold these days.
To: Republican Red
How ironic! Not ironic at all. It's typical of how he and his buddies on the left operate. They can't just disagree with someone. They attempt to destroy anyone who is not "with them" and will use any tactic, trick or lie to do it.
They are above all, mean-spirited, vindictive people.

I could never particularly tell how he got a job on SNL, because, he's not funny. Presumably, being funny is a job requirement for something like that. Maybe he has other oral skills that gave him the nod?
To: Republican Red
Problem is only folks like us seem to read Drudge!

Hmmm. So if Franken sent similar letters to anyone else in perpetrating this fraud, then this mail fraud could be prosecuted under the RICO statutes. Think the Janet Firebomb Reno Justice Dept would pass up an opportunity to use RICO against a political enemy?

Savor the irony...mmmmmmmm.

Al Franken is in the awkward business. That's funny, I don't think he's ever felt regret about putting anybody else in an awkward position.
If urinating on Shorenstein Center helps him sell another 5K books, they've got more gifts on the way from Mr. Franken.
This guy ain't funny. His best (and only) bit was "Stuart Smally". Now days, Jim Hightower and his dusty, one-liners are funnier. Or rather, not as unfunny as Franken.
