At the JospephBeth in Shaker Heights (just south of Cleveland) bookstore Hillay was signing her Books. Is it just me or is this like the phony "listening tour" before her Senate run.
We had 5 Freepers there myself, DollyCali, Commiewatcher; Common Tator; and TypeLouder (he guys am I missing someone?). In addition there were two very nice ladies who joined us to hold signs. In addition, a Right to Life group, had a large contingent with very attention getting signs...very attention getting. And lastly, there were two guys from the 92.3 Xtreme radio morning show; they were there with signs trying to get Hillary to sleep with the morning dj as a way to get back at Bill.
OK and now to justify the Yellow Journalism in my title. A young African American male was pulled over with a gun in his car, right next to the protest. The Shaker Heights's finest apprehended him quickly. Motive unknown.
Media coverage: Fox 8 News; Action News 43/19; the Cleveland Plain Dealer; and Rover Radio, 92.3's morning show --- of course they were there to get media not to report.

The leftists were (generally) well behaved. We did have one drive by spitter.... he spat far too.
I'm on your "word perfect" list for pix, right? I'm completely computer challenged myself (I know an archaic program called GeoWorks, but am "word clueless"!) but I got some "instructions" from BillF (he of the "all-Ohio master ping list") and hopefully the next time there's a golden opportunity for Freeping in a good cause, we can track down a "fearless Freeper fifteen", or even "fifty", LOL!! (there's hope, even in the land of DENNIS!...)

Too right! Both the "time" and the "location" planned for this "event" were very strategically thought out. That pretty much ticks me off, I must say!
If you know about the driving challenges in Shaker, I expect you should be on my "NE Ohio ping list"? (a project I'm trying to work on, although I'm totally unqualified for the task, and heaven knows if I can actually get it to work, but sometimes you've got to do something!)

This is the land of Stephanie Tubbs-Jones who is just as bad. She is carrying on the 30+ years of Louis Stokes' socialism and between them they have made sure that this congressional district has remained the POOREST in the state. Shaker Hts is by all means not shabby but it has lost the prestige it once had. It used to have the highest per capita income in the US, surpassing even Beverly Hills, and boasted one of the finest public school systems in the country. Those "evil rich" now prefer suburbs like Hunting Valley and Gates Mills.
Pat Pappanno ran against her in the last race and didn't do very well. Pat campaigned very hard and worked his butt off in this district that we usually give a pass on. I felt very sorry for him considering the result.

HERE WE BE !!!!
We were the Good. But there was “other good”.
The Bad was Ms. Pantsuit. But there was “ other bad”.
The Ugly was also Ms. Pantsuit. But there was “other ugly”.
The GOOD
1) Weather - sunny & a gentle breeze (but poor Dubs in his devil mask & long sleeved red shirt was hot..)
2) parking - as Commiewatcher mentioned in our area not much traffic - in fact less than I usually encounter when I go to the movies there.., The newspaper mentioned that 1000 books were signed -- if true, I believe that most traffic went in/out the back entrance. We didn’t see even a hundred people carrying books
3) 5 diverse FReepers, some meeting face to face for first time - but as one commented after at dinner, “we are all so comfortable together & like we have been life-long friends”.

4) The Pro-Life folks. When we walked across square from Yours Truly, where we made signs, had got a quick beverage & .there was a group with lots of signs. The signs were very thought provoking & left no doubt as to the brutality of abortion. When we saw the group across the square, we were excited thinking so many FReepers were already there. BUT, it was nice to have others who were protesting Hitlery. A mom & son are two prospective FReepers.
5) The two senior ladies that Dubyaismypresident and Common Tator convinced to stand with us with signs. Dub had extra signs. They were local women & one the wife of retired minister who held a pro - life sign. Two more prospective FReepers

6) The Plain Dealer reporter who was the only media person to verbally interview/contact with us. She did well to fairly represent us in the few minutes she spent with us. She mentioned Free Republic & website in her news article & quoted & named TypeLouder and mentioned Common Tator’s sign. Thanks to columnist Carolyn Jack. Her email address: cjack@plaind.com . 7) The Yours Truly server before the FReeping who was sweet to us knowing we were protesting Hillary. She said .. “Hey, protestors have to eat also.” She watched & smiled as we made the signs .. Of course she knew her tip was on the line !!!
8) The several police who were encouraging to us & let us know in various ways: we’re with you ! 9) Common Tator must have been an educator in his last life.. He was sharing knowledge with so many people in the ranks.. He never ceases to amaze me with the depth of his knowledge & the political background of him & his family.

The BAD
1) Ms. Pantsuit.. Did NOT see her, but the pictures later reminded me of Reece Weatherspoon in her recent Legally Blonde: Red, white & Blonde (as she is in a Jackie Kennedy Onasis type Pink outfit) . Despite the fact the flick was a disappointment to me, I couldn’t help but think that somehow the Jr. Senator felt some connection? Well, if Simon & Schuster is happy to pay for her pre-campaign visits, so be it. They were stupid enough to give her 8 Mil up-front, why not continue the nonsense. I still hear mixed reports on the success of the book Does anyone know for sure?.
2) ONLY FIVE out of so MANY POTENTIAL FReepers. I was disappointed. Okay there were valid reasons etc. for many... BUT, I feel cheated to have N O T had the opportunity to meet & play & FReep & laugh with YOU at this special time. The five (six? Oliver) of us had a great time and I am glad we had this special time together. Common Tator drove many hours both ways in same day to participate (and yes, he is/was VERY busy also). I personally invited all of my conservative friends - and yes, there aren’t too many. They just laughed & made comments about calling if I needed bail. Well, bottom line... we should have had a dozen or two.. But I will try to look at the half full cup rather than the half empty one. I am a still considered a “newbie” I guess. Does one lose enthusiasm as one becomes an “oldie”????? Reminds me of church.
3) Our location: when we got there the Pro-life group already had the entire area on the square quadrant. So we had to mingle among that line.
Many folks driving by saw first the VERY graphic & large Pro life signs & by the time they got to us, often didn’t even look at our signs. All 5 of us were definitely Pro-life in mentality but that is just a small part of conservatism.
4) The gun-on-front-seat young man who was arrested. He was only a few hundred feet from us..It didn’t take long for the local police & secret service to give him special attention. My gut feeling is that he was a local from a few miles west in Cleveland where unfortunately drugs, guns, etc are the norm..but who knows. He sure picked a bad time to be packing and picked the wrong place if he was just cruisin’.

The UGLY
1) The Spitter: he was passenger. Early 20's . Screamed “not so nice stuff”.. Then raised his body out of the passenger side of the car & over the car & toward us had the longest spray of spit I have ever seen. Almost hit TypeLouder’s feet! Flash back to Rose spitting lesson on Titanic.
3) The “you are all disgusting” Yuppie. In his polo shirt and Cargo shorts with gold necklace & pretty haircut.. He presented a nice image but when he opened his mouth & walked along the entire line of FReepers & Pro-life people only a foot away S C R E A M I N G...”You are disgusting, you are all disgusting”.. Well, His image immediately changed for us. Appearances tell us little ..... Interesting side note is that my pooch, Oliver, rarely barks. He is a gentle, kind dog. Maybe if someone is at door or if we pass a bicyclist there is a bit of woof, woof.... But he went crazy barking back at Mr Yuppie. The man was yelling in a threatening way & Oliver was protecting us ! Way to go Oliver!!!. I wanted to have left him off the leash (but I can’t afford a lawsuit.. And Mr Yup is probably a lawyer).
3) The many women in SUVs & on cell phones who gave us comments (no, yelled us comments) and gave us looks & gestures that were not exactly feminine and not exactly polite.(go home, crawl back under your rock, get a job (hey, isn’t that our line?), F*** Off, among others..)
4) Ms. Pantsuit. NO, I don’t think she is physically ugly. Yes, she has taken some bad/unflattering pictures. SO DO I. In fact I think she looks pretty good for a woman her age. Her ugliness is : her enabling a predator husband: her lies, her deceit: her self centered nature; her mockery of marriage values; her disrespect for people (both living & unborn). THAT IS REALLY UGLY . Okay , she has lousy legs.
WHAT DID WE ACCOMPLISH?
Most of us with a little gray matter try to retrospect the activities in which we chose to participate . Ditto for this.
Some FReepers from other states assured us that Ms. Pantsuit IS aware of the protests & it bothers her. Heck, that is human nature. I feel badly when I am put down too ! Hope we POd her a little.
Well, if the figures are true .. 1000+ were there pro- Hillary.. Maybe 2 dozen total anti-Hillary. Did we make a dent? Did we annoy people ? (yes on that one!!!) Did we recruit some for cause? (Yes, on that one?)
In a society where we often feel so helpless & are just caught in the tides of life, we did our small part to be seen & stand for a principal and to let others know not everyone thinks she is the smartest, coolest, most noble person. Poor little victim. YUK.
Posting like this on Free Republic or other forums are good ways to express, learn & grow... but ACTIVISM is the way to have fruition to the growth in my opinion
One can read all about ballet but until you see a ballet you don’t “know”.
Reading about sex can be stimulating.. But until you experience- well, you know... Ever try to describe the taste of something very strange..? You can read about it, write about it.. But one taste & you KNOW.. I encourage all of you to put your “brave shoes “ on & participate when you can in this type of experience.
I would not have traded for anything the Rally for America events I attended throughout the spring. And I am so very glad to have shared the Freeping time last PM with Common Tator; TypeLouder; Commiewatcher and Dubyaismypresident, and Oliver. You guys are great.

Yes.. There are a lot of pictures of my dog. When you post after you FReep, you can put in pictures of your dog, if he/she also Freeped. *G* So there !!!

Never thought I'd see FReeping being compared to sex, but you make a good point.
FReeping should be tried. It's fun and can, when done right and responsibly, produce some great things.
I must however take exception to promoting Hillary as dog catcher per the sign on your dog. Someone as cruel as Hillary should not be given power over our four-legged friends (let alone power over us and fellow citizens).
Seriously though, beautiful dog. What breed?
