If the plural of goose is geese then isn't the plural of moose. meese?

Oh, BIS, please do send me some rain. The summer has been fantastic so far, but.......completely devoid of rain. A trace yesterday for a half hour and some predicted for Thursday. The weathermen haven't been right yet this summer, so when I see sustained rain I will believe.
