Well, the bureaucrats only get paid while the students are within the school building, and it's only fair that the bureaucrats get paid any time there's any learning going on, right? So if there's no payment there must be no learning.

LOL!!! A perfect example of Educatorlogic if there ever was one!

I reckon I'm just nosey;-) His post didn't appear to be from a troll, so I couldn't figure out the significance of when he joined. Now I know it was a private joke...that's cool. Thanks for clearing it up for me:-)

Keen said he then received at least six phone calls and 150 e-mails about the decision.

That's ALL? Come on folks...we're slipping! A few years ago his mailbox would have been hit with thousands of messages.

Hillary Clinton goes to a primary school to talk about the world.

After her talk she offers question time. One little boy puts up his hand, and the Senator asks him what his name is. "Billy."

"And what is your question, Billy?"

"I have three questions. First - whatever happened to your medical health care plan; second - why would you run for President after your
husband shamed the office; and third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House?"

Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the  kiddies that they will continue after recess.

When they resume Hillary says, "Okay where were we? Oh, that's right, question time. Who has a question?" A different little boy
puts his hand up. Hillary points him out and asks him what his name is.

"Stevie."

"And what is your question, Stevie?"

"I have five questions:

"First - whatever happened to your medical health care plan; second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office; third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House; fourth - why did the bell ring 20 minutes early; and fifth - what happened to Billy?"

From the site's forum page-

"Several years ago, I played in our school band. The school bussed us, during school time, to the county seat, to play at a campaign stop for the sitting president at that time. Could there be a difference between a campaign stop for a democrat president and a policy speech by a republican president. Oh, that school that sent us to play for the democrat president was Westfield!"

To shut up a jerk today by socking him in the jaw - well the sockee would get an attorney. Thanks to both my mother and father they left me with a deep love for America. And I was fortunate to marry a man who feels the same way.

The Tulls said they notified the school about the event ahead of time. But the school decided an excused absence wasn't warranted, saying the event wasn't an educational activity.
One more example of the educrats thinking they should have more say than parents. When I was in school, if the parents cleared an absence in advance, it was automatically excused no-matter-what. You just couldn't miss more than a certain total number of days. My dad once got me out of a study hall and a class to go pick up his car from a repair shop.

the Indianapolis Children's Choir, of which this girl is a member, is nationally known. They tour Europe and make appearances all over the USA.

She's probably learning more just being a member of this incredible choir than she is in many of her classes. The discipline and musical knowledge that the choristers acquire far surpasses much of what they'd get from school. IMO, she should be getting extra credit for participating and encouraged to be part of anything the choir does, whenever it happens. Our son belonged to a similar choir years ago, and still draws on his experiences there.

What a difference between their school system and the one I teach in.

When President Reagan came to our town, the entire school got a 1/2 day so that they could all attend.

One of my students was even able to work their way to the front of the audience and got to shake hands with him.

When you go to teachers college they tell you if you can't relate to kids. Go into administration. (What if you can't relate to the human race? -- join the demo-rats.)

Unless she was going to an exceptional private school , I would say she didn't miss much.

But this is another reason American's need to take back control of their educations.

When the people who DON'T want You to learn from history , control your education , you will never learn that they exist.

It's on its way , Jeff.

The things I saw in the Army on the east coast are slapping me in the face now.

It appears that crap infiltrates from the coasts towards the center. We must be a little harder to poison. But it's hard to stop with television telling our children everyday "That it's okay".

The plan is simple , God warned us , but "We" feel we are above all that , as "IT" swallows our lives.

Evil , never left people. Evil is just as dangerous today , as it ever was.

Anymore I'm not so sure that evil is so hard to recognize as it is finding people who are willing to deal with it.

Like murder , rape , gangs , drugs , incest , child molesters and so on , we have become "desensitized" to evil and take it with a grain of salt.

As long as it doesn't concern us , it's just a part of life.

There's a saying that fits this situation and many others and I'm sorry I can't quote it exactly , but I will be close enough that You will understand.

" That amount of abuse that a government will push on its people is the amount of abuse they will accept"

Vigilant means not bending over , Right is still Right and Wrong is still Wrong. If You are willing to bend , they are willing to break You...................

I have the solution to this problem: Have the President send the school a absense note for her!

How about this instead - SCHOOL THEM AT HOME!

The schools position on this is mind-boggling. Even if it were a dog-catcher rally, performing at a public event in a children's choir is "educational". Listening to public speeches is educational.

Combine the music literacy, the public performance, and the fact that the elected leader of the free world was present, and I can think of a huge list of educational objectives met by attending this event instead of a day at school.

To penalize her for taking advantage of this opportunity is shocking.
