I also recall seeing several other presentations on the Discovery Channel and A&E.
As an amateur astronomer and long time Pyramid buff, I've always found Graham Hancock's hypothesis that the Constellation of Orion mirroring the Geza Plateau just....awesome.

" I've always found Graham Hancock's hypothesis that the Constellation of Orion mirroring the Geza Plateau just....awesome." I believe the pyramid layout with the stars idea is Robert Bauvals.

Time had no meaning. I was light-headed with the Power. A migraine, perhaps with a touch of hyperventilation. It's good they aren't talking about the diagonal shafts as being lined up to sight certain stars at certain times, since the shafts aren't straight and you can't see out the end.

Graham Hancock's hypothesis that the Constellation of Orion mirroring the Geza Plateau just....awesome. Whether it was him or Bauval, or one of the many other people they have interviewed who got the idea, it is a good one. The Nile as the Milky Way. Orion was their favorite constellation, and it is sill the most commonly recognized constellation.

Agree.
Whether it was Hancock or Buaval, could be debated. But, the importance of this paradigm still remains...Awesome!
Please correct me if I'm wrong in the final words in "2001":
"..It's all stars...it's beautiful.."
Sort'a like the book/movie.."Contact"..statement: "If no one else is out there, it's sure a waste of space"
IMHO, the folks who tred our planet eons ago knew more than we know now. Think about it. Celestial navigation didn't come on the cheap. Our "Higher Power" passed down some guide posts in which we keep ignoring.

It's fun to speculate origins. I believe the people 10,000 or 30,000 years ago were just like us, no more ignorant anyway. It is just possible, and I agree with Hapgood, that we have just recently gotten back to what we were technologically during the Ice Age, that the dawn of civilization in Mesopotamia was actually the low point between civilizations, the prehistoric and ours.

I haven't totally signed onto the Egypt/Orion theory but I have been impressed with Dr Robert Schock, he seems credible with no tinfoil in the mix. His evidence on water erosion of the sphinx is hard to dismiss.

"that we have just recently gotten back to what we were technologically during the Ice Age, that the dawn of civilization in Mesopotamia was actually the low point between civilizations, the prehistoric and ours." Maybe 300-600 years ago. I think we're already well past previous accomplishments.

We both consider everything since the Little Ice Age to be recent times, current events. :)
