This was bound to happen. The Iraq War would not have happened otherwise.

I was reading a report where one marine mentioned how these people have been conditioned to cheer and rally for whoever is in control. I am sure their feelings are genuine about being liberated, but If it were the republican guard marching through they would probably be cheering just as much. Poor bastards

It's a little silly to desire cheering like that. The best way for them to thank us will be to set up and commit to a republican form of government that recognizes fundamental rights and emulates the best parts of the American system of self government.

The irony is beyond belief. Media report after media report and photo after photo shows the Iraqi people welcoming the coalition forces. Yet, domestically, twits are protesting the US presence in freeing the Iraqis from years of tyrannical rule just because a Republican president is doing what a democratic president should have done all along.

I am a little nervous about all of this; They, the iraqis, most of them, know that Sadam has been nothing but a plague for them; but they have no idea what the intentions are of United States; I am sure most of them are relieved, but skeptical; we need to not make the same mistake we made in Afghanistan many years ago and leave Iraq a vaccum for some Bin Laden wanna be. Screw the U.N. ... We need to reassemble Iraq; with U.N. money and iraq oil money of course
