Sabri's safe entry to Syria a success for Iraqis
Damascus, March 24, IRNA -- Experts believe that successful arrival of Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri in Syria on his way to Cairo, where he would attend the meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, marks a big success for the Iraqi nation despite a psychological warfare launched by the US and Britain.
Sabri's safe entry to Damascus proves the weak intelligence of the coalition forces contrary to their claims at the start of the war on Thursday, experts say.
Sabri, clad in Arab costume, left Baghdad aboard a car on Saturday and got to Syria early Sunday after travelling hundreds kilometers on dangerous and unsafe roads.
Despite fatigue, Sabri told reporters that Iraq would no get any help from Arabs in war with Americans and Britons.
Experts say this shows political contacts between Baghdad and certain Arab states, mostly Damascus. It also shows strong political and security position of Iraqis.
The visit by Sabri shows Baghdad's self-confidence because if Iraqis were not confident that a senior political personality like Sabri would not be able to return to Baghdad, they would have never allowed him to leave Iraq, said a Syrian analyst Shaban Abud.
Abud says this indicates coordination among Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, which has accepted to guarantee the security of Sabri during his stay in Cairo for Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting.
He said Naji's safe return to his home country would mark another political and military victory for Iraq.

Wonder why we did that?
Instead, what they did was inadvertantly but a bounty on him and paint a bullseye on his back.
I wouldn't want to be Mr. Sabri now.. No thank you.
I think this is a different guy,. The one that has been shown on Foxnews making claims about the US not following the Geneva convention because of our holding terrorists in the Carribean! He has an ugly mustach and a round face!
Uh...OK.
He said Naji's safe return to his home country would mark another political and military victory for Iraq.
Ah, so the trip as a whole will consitute two successes in all.
