Tenn. Senate Acts Against Porn in Cars

Tenn. Senate Acts Against Porn in Cars Tue Mar 18, 8:48 AM ET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Porn and driving don't mix — at least not in Tennessee.

The state Senate has voted unanimously to ban X-rated videos from cars and other vehicles if the television screens can be seen from the street.

Senator Mark Norris filed the legislation after getting a complaint from a constituent. The man said his daughters could see a sex tape being played in a van stopped at a red light. Many vehicles now have the option of being equipped with video players.

But the measure wouldn't outlaw all mobile red light districts. Porn fans could still watch sex tapes if their car windows are tinted or covered by shades.

Er, I don't care whether it's Bambi the stripper or Bambi the baby deer -- if you're on the road, you ought to be watching the road, not TV.

Now there's an activity that could impair one's driving.

"Here, hold mah" ....never mind.

I suppose you can still sail on down the road yaking it up on your hand held cell phone as you mindlessly drift out of your lane and absentmindedly run a stop sign and endanger everyone around you and then be bewildered when people give you the finger and honk their horns in justified anger.

Here in Georgia the Atlanta paper published an article regarding the onset of 'gridlock' in this year's General Assembly session.

It noted that over 1000 separate bills were in the legislative hopper awaiting some sort of action.

Simply amazing...to think that things were SO BAD here that we needed 1000+ new/amended laws to set things straight.

Legislators feel a compulsion to,well, legislate. There doesn't have to really be any underlying rationale - it's simply better to do something even if that something is idiotic.

Probably to rear-end collision as well.
